Fair market value for donated clothing, from real sales
A used Patagonia or Coach item is worth more than a category guide says, and a worn item is worth less than new. SoldStack gives the median sold price and typical range for the specific item in its condition, from the last 12 months, with the sales behind it.
100 lookups a month free, no card. Paid plans from $9/month.
The problem with a static value guide
A category guide gives one wide range for many different things, such as "women's coat" or "handbag". Two items in the same category can be worth very different amounts.
- Brand and model. A used North Face Nuptse in good condition typically sells for $60 and a used Patagonia Nano Puff for $75.
- Condition. New with tags and worn are different markets. Lululemon Align leggings typically sell for $73.50 new with tags and $25 in good condition.
A defensible value is one you can tie to what the same item actually sold for, in the same condition, recently.
What SoldStack gives you
- Median sold price and typical range for the specific brand and item, not the category.
- Split by condition: new with tags, like new, excellent, good and fair, each with its own median, range and number of sales.
- Limited to the last 12 months with
days=365, so the value reflects the current market. - The individual sold listings, each with title, size, condition, price, sold date and a link to the Poshmark listing, so every value can be backed by actual sales.
- A confidence rating and a report of what was removed (bundles, kids' sizes, other item types, duplicates, outliers).
A worked example, from real sales
Four items, each with at least 3 sales in every condition shown. For three of them, new with tags is worth about 2 to 3 times as much as good condition. For the fourth it is worth about the same.
| Item | New with tags | Used, good | Used, good: typical range | All conditions mixed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coach Tabby 26 | $324.50 6 sales | $172.50 14 sales | $165 to $248.90 | $245 44 sales |
| Lululemon Align Leggings | $73.50 8 sales | $25 13 sales | $18.40 to $38 | $29 48 sales |
| The North Face Nuptse | $150 5 sales | $60 20 sales | $30 to $130.30 | $72.50 40 sales |
| Patagonia Nano Puff | $82.50 4 sales | $75 18 sales | $49.70 to $109.50 | $82 43 sales |
Median sold prices on Poshmark, cleaned, last 12 months, as of Oct 8, 2026. Each item's price page has today's numbers.
Condition grades matter beyond tags: a Coach Tabby 26 sold like new has a median of $265 (17 sales), against $172.50 in good condition (14 sales). The Patagonia Nano Puff is the opposite case: $82.50 with tags and $75 in good condition, so for that jacket condition moves the value very little. A single category range would hide both.
Counts are small for new with tags (4 to 8 sales), so those medians are less certain than the good-condition ones. The count is shown so you can judge that.
Pull a value from the API
One request returns the used-condition comps for the last 12 months. condition takes new, used or exact grades like used_good; days takes 1 to 365.

- statsnumbers
- Median, range and sale count across the used sales, plus days to sell and the net after Poshmark's fee.

What this does not cover
- Poshmark only. Sales from other marketplaces and from thrift stores are not included. Poshmark sellers price for an online buyer, so a store sale price for the same item can be lower.
- The price is the last listed price. If the seller accepted a lower offer, the real price may have been a little lower, so treat each value as a slight overestimate.
- Clothing, shoes and bags only. No furniture, electronics or collectibles.
- Not tax or legal advice. This is market data, and an appraisal may be required for high-value items.

Questions
Where do the values come from?
From Poshmark's public sold listings in the US. SoldStack removes bundles, kids' sizes, other item types, duplicates and price outliers, then gives the median sold price and the typical range (10th to 90th percentile) for the item, split by condition. Every sale behind a number is listed with a link to its Poshmark listing.
Can I use these values for a tax deduction?
SoldStack gives market data, not tax or legal advice. Whether and how a figure is used on a return is a question for the donor and their tax adviser, and an appraisal may be required for high-value items.
How recent are the sales?
You choose. Add days=365 to an API request and only sales from the last 12 months are used. An API search is fetched live the first time and served from a saved copy for up to 6 hours after that.
How is this different from a value guide with price ranges?
A static guide gives one range for a whole category. SoldStack gives the median and range for a specific brand and item in a specific condition, from sales that happened in the last year, with the sales listed so each value can be checked.
What if an item has few sales?
Each condition shows how many sales are behind it. A range is only given with 3 or more sales, and every result has a confidence rating. For rare items, treat a thin result as a rough guide and read the sales before relying on it.
