How accurate is this?

Every SoldStack price is the median of Poshmark sold listings after removing the ones that would skew it. Here's what gets removed in real searches, how confidence is rated, and what the cleaning still misses.

What the number is

  • The typical price is a median. It's the middle sold price of the Poshmark sales left after cleaning, for the search you typed. Poshmark returns up to about 48 sold listings per search.
  • Each sale's price is the last listed price, which is what Poshmark shows on a sold item.
  • Freshness: an API search is fetched live the first time, then served from a saved copy for up to 6 hours. Price guide pages are refreshed every day or two and show their date.

What it is not:

  • Not what the buyer paid if the seller accepted a lower offer. Poshmark doesn't show accepted offers, so treat the number as a slight overestimate.
  • Not eBay. The sales come from Poshmark in the US.
  • Not an appraisal. Nobody inspects or authenticates the item. It's what similar listings sold for.

What gets removed, with real examples

Every search goes through the same steps, in this order:

  1. Your filters, if you set any: size, condition, date window, price range, excluded words.
  2. Off topic: every search word has to appear in the title or brand (a number can match the size).
  3. Labeled replicas: titles that say replica, rep, dupe, fake, inspired, unauthorized, 1:1, "not authentic", "look alike" and similar words, unless you searched for them.
  4. Bundles and lots.
  5. Kids' sizes (toddler, youth, GS, sizes like 4T or 10C), unless you searched for kids.
  6. Other item types: if the search doesn't name one, the most common type is kept, so a leggings search doesn't count joggers.
  7. Duplicates: the same title, price and size sold on the same day counts once.
  8. Price outliers: prices far outside the rest, judged on a log scale so cheap and expensive items are treated alike.

These are real searches from the public demo on Oct 7, 2026, served from saved data. Across the 12 searches checked that night (sneakers, bags and leggings), Poshmark returned 576 sales and cleaning kept 531, so it removed 45, about 8%. One search (Golden Goose Hi Star) lost nothing. None of the 12 had a listing labeled as a replica.

The four below are the searches where cleaning removed the most. On well-defined items the median barely moves: cleaning mostly protects against the cases where it would, like a kids' pair or a bundle landing in a thin sample. The Alma example shows the other side: removing duplicates and outliers moved the median by about $40.

Converse Run Star Hike

Cleaning for the search "converse run star hike"
Found on Poshmark48
Removed: other item types7
Removed: bundles and lots2
Kept39
Median of all 48 sales, before cleaning$50
Median of the 39 kept sales$50
Typical range (10th to 90th percentile)$25 to $75
ConfidenceHigh

Poshmark's sold search also returned 7 listings whose titles name a different kind of item than the shoes, and 2 bundles. All 39 sales kept are the shoes. Split by condition: new with tags $65 (8 sales), like new $45 (10), good $50 (21). Today's numbers for Converse Run Star Hike may differ.

Louis Vuitton Alma

Cleaning for the search "louis vuitton alma"
Found on Poshmark48
Removed: duplicate listings6
Removed: price outliers2
Removed: off topic (a search word missing from the title)1
Kept39
Median of all 48 sales, before cleaning$980
Median of the 39 kept sales$1,018
Typical range (10th to 90th percentile)$410 to $1,243.20
ConfidenceHigh

6 sales were the same listing (same title, price and size, sold the same day) and count once. What cleaning doesn't fix here: the kept sales mix Alma sizes. Among the first 12 kept, the Alma BB sold for $775 to $900 and the Alma PM for $1,018 to $1,200. Two kept sales at $378 and $380 don't name a size, and nothing in the data says whether they are smaller, worn or not authentic. Searching "louis vuitton alma bb" gives a tighter number. Today's numbers for Louis Vuitton Alma may differ.

Vans Sk8-Hi

Cleaning for the search "vans sk8-hi"
Found on Poshmark48
Removed: other item types4
Removed: bundles and lots2
Kept42
Median of all 48 sales, before cleaning$32
Median of the 42 kept sales$33
Typical range (10th to 90th percentile)$20.40 to $60
ConfidenceHigh

4 listings for other item types and 2 bundles removed. The bigger issue is age: Poshmark ranks sold results by relevance, and the kept sales go back to 2020. The demo uses every date. The price guide uses only the last year when it has at least 8 sales, and the API takes days=365 (or 90) for today's market. Today's numbers for Vans Sk8-Hi may differ.

Skims Leggings

Cleaning for the search "skims leggings"
Found on Poshmark48
Removed: bundles and lots2
Removed: kids' sizes1
Kept45
Median of all 48 sales, before cleaning$27
Median of the 45 kept sales$25
Typical range (10th to 90th percentile)$13.80 to $59.60
ConfidenceMedium

2 bundles and 1 kids' size removed. Confidence is medium because prices vary: the kept sales include Nike x SKIMS leggings sold new with tags for $55 to $72 next to plain SKIMS leggings at $15 to $26 used. Both are SKIMS leggings, so cleaning keeps both. Split by condition: new with tags $40 (19 sales), like new $16.50 (10), good $19 (8). Today's numbers for Skims Leggings may differ.

How confidence is decided

Every result is rated high, medium or low from two things: how many sales are left after cleaning, and how spread out their prices are. The spread is the width of the typical range (10th to 90th percentile) divided by the median.

  • High: 15 or more sales, and the typical range is no wider than 1.5 times the median (for a $40 median, a range no wider than $60). Fine to use as the price.
  • Medium: 6 or more sales, and the range is no wider than 2.5 times the median. A guide: add a model, size or condition to narrow it, or look at the sales.
  • Low: fewer than 6 sales, or a range wider than 2.5 times the median. Don't price from it alone. Read the sales.

One more rule: if the search doesn't name an item type and no single type makes up more than half of the sales (bags, wallets and keychains together, say), the rating drops a level, from high to medium or medium to low, and the note says to add the item type.

From the examples above: Converse Run Star Hike kept 39 sales with a range of $25 to $75, a $50 spread on a $50 median (1 times), so high. Skims Leggings kept 45 sales, but the range ran $13.80 to $59.60, a $45.80 spread on a $25 median (about 1.8 times), so medium.

What confidence doesn't measure: how old the sales are (Vans Sk8-Hi rated high with sales back to 2020), or whether an item is authentic.

What we don't catch

  • Fakes that aren't labeled. The replica step only catches titles that say so. A fake priced far below the real thing usually gets trimmed as a price outlier. A fake priced like the real thing stays in.
  • Accepted offers. If a seller took a lower offer, Poshmark still shows the listed price. Real prices run a little lower than the number.
  • Shops that list and sell in the same minute. Their sales show 0 days to sell, which isn't a real speed. Price guide pages show a dash instead of a number when that happens.
  • Repeat listings from one shop. The duplicate step only merges identical sales on the same day, so a shop selling the same item over and over can tilt the result.
  • Several versions under one name. Alma BB and Alma PM, Coach Tabby 20, 26 and 36, or a brand's collab line. Add the model or size to the search.
  • Old sales. Some results are years old. Use days=365 or days=90 in the API. The price guide does this for you when there's enough data.
  • Thin data for niche items. A search with a handful of sales gets a low rating, and the number is a rough guess.

We also check by reading pages by hand. An audit of the price guide on Oct 7, 2026 found pages that read fine but had bad data underneath (one had 31 sales at an identical $58 from a single shop; another mixed a fleece, a wool coat and puffers), and removed 5 of them. You can do the same check yourself: every result returns the sales it used, with a link to each Poshmark listing.

Check it yourself

Look up any item and read the sales behind the number:

Every API response includes a cleaning block with found, used, removed (a count for each reason above), the confidence rating and a note, and items lists every sale used with a link. Add clean=false to see Poshmark's results without cleaning. Here is the block for Converse Run Star Hike on Oct 7, 2026:

Response (cleaning only)
"cleaning": {
  "found": 48,
  "used": 39,
  "removed": {"bundles": 2, "other_item_types": 7},
  "item_type": "shoes",
  "confidence": "high",
  "confidence_note": "39 matching sales with consistent prices."
}

Questions

Where does the data come from?

From Poshmark's public sold listings in the US, the same results a shopper sees when filtering a search to sold items. SoldStack reads them one request at a time and saves each search.

Why is the price different from what I see on Poshmark?

Poshmark's sold results mix in other items, bundles, kids' sizes, repeat listings and extreme prices, and can go back years. SoldStack removes those and gives the median of what's left, not the average or a single sale. The price guide also uses only the last year of sales when there are enough of them.

How often is it updated?

An API search is fetched live the first time, then served from a saved copy for up to 6 hours. Price guide pages are refreshed every day or two and show the date they were updated.

Can I see which sales were used?

Yes. Every API result lists the sales behind the number with title, size, condition, price, sold date and a link to the Poshmark listing, plus a count of what was removed and why. Price guide pages show recent sales with links too.
